A fugitive wanted since 1990 for charges in Northampton County has been arrested in Florida.

Matthew Hebert had been sought on a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution for aggravated assault, burglary and related charges, an FBI official said.

Hebert, 42, was charged March 31, 1990, in a home invasion robbery and assault on Pen Argyl residents Allie and Florence van Dorn.

At that time, Hebert and two accomplices were arrested by Plainfield Township police, but Hebert subsequently jumped bail and fled the state, officials said.

Early Thursday, deputies in the Hillsborough County (Florida) Sheriff's office found Hebert in Seffner, Fla. They found the standing arrest warrants and placed him in custody.

He will be extradited to Pennsylvania by the Northampton County district attorney's office.
