A Lehigh County high school can add another feather to its cap.

U.S. News and World Report ranked Parkland High School number 55 on its best high schools in Pennsylvania list.

Parkland, located at 2700 N. Cedar Crest Blvd. in South Whitehall Twp. made the list for its high proficiency levels and college readiness percentage.

The school has more than 3,100 students.

A local charter school -- Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School -- ranked second in the state list, which included 61 charter schools, 29 magnet schools and 597 public schools.

The charter school, located at 1560 Valley Center Parkway in Bethlehem, was ranked 157th nationwide in the U.S. News list.
