Philly man accused of threatening person at knife-point in Northampton Community College dorm
A 21-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested for allegedly threatening another person at knife-point in a Northampton Community College dormitory, police said.
Police say the incident happened around 5 a.m. Saturday in the college dorms at 3835 Green Pond Road.
Norman Blocker Jr. is accused of entering a dorm room, grabbing a male by the neck, pulling him out of bed and placing a knife under his neck while saying, "you want me to (expletive) kill you," according to police.
Police say the victim told authorities he cut a finger and thumb while struggling to get the knife away from his neck.
Police say a dorm staff member reported seeing Blocker entering the second floor bathroom. The staff member said that after Blocker left, she entered the bathroom and recovered a silver folding knife that appeared to have dried blood on the blade.
A witness who was in the dorm room at the time of the attack corroborated the incident, according to police.
Police say Blocker admitted to carrying out the attack.
Blocker was arraigned and was committed to Northampton County Prison on $10,000 bail.
There's no word on what may have sparked Blocker to carry out the alleged attack.
