Miami native Armando Christian Pérez started his music career in his teens in the late 1990s and began to gain mainstream recognition guest rapping as Pitbull on other artists’ albums in the early 2000s.
His first solo release, “M.I.A.M.I.,” came out in 2004, and he followed with six more studio albums and two EPs that spawned numerous singles on charts worldwide.
His appearance adds an urban, Latin, pop twist to the fair’s line-up that already includes heavy metal rockers Mötley Crüe with special guest Alice Cooper and three nights of country headliners Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw and Hunter Hayes.
Tickets for Pitbull's concert will be $39 and $59 for seats both on the track and in the grandstand, and $80 for a small standing pit area in front of the stage.
They go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on April 12 and will be available at the Fair box office, at Ticketmaster.com, at Ticketmaster centers and at 800-745-3000.
Tickets for Hunter Hayes' August 30 show go on sale Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m.
Hayes had previously been announced as the first act for the 2014 Musikfest lineup, but was cancelled due to a scheduling error.
Tickets are currently on sale for the Motley Crüe, Lady Antebellum and Tim McGraw concerts, available at the box office, which is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays and Thursday.
