Police arrest Jennifer Jaegel for stabbing man
Suspect briefly holds off police with pepper spray
A woman was taken into custody in connection with a stabbing after briefly holding off police with a can of pepper spray.
Jennifer M. Jaegel was arrested in a bedroom of her home at 352 Kiddie Lane, Walnutport, Northampton County, where she stabbed Theodore Symer's left arm with a seven-and-a-half inch knife around 5:20 p.m. Monday, officials said.
Police entered the bedroom when Jaegel refused to come out after opening the door and showing them a can of pepper spray, officials said.
Court papers do not say why Jaegel stabbed Symer, or describe the relationship between the two.
Symer's wound was six to seven inches long and two to three inches deep, officials noted, and he was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, Lehigh Co., for treatment.
Jaegel, 32, was arraigned on charges of aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment and was committed to the Northampton County Prison on $25,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 16.
