UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. -

Upper Macungie police say a man who fled from officers had to be rescued after being found dangling from a tree along a cliff.

Officials said the dramatic events unfolded around 11 a.m. Wednesday on Ambassador Drive when police pulled over 37-year-old Johnson Rivera-Dejesus of Freemansburg for a minor traffic violation.

Rivera-Dejesus got out of his car and ran away. Police eventually found him hanging from a tree on the wall of a quarry. Emergency crews had to be called in to rescue the suspect from the cliff, police said.

Rivera-Dejesus was taken into custody and is facing disorderly conduct charges.
