A woman in Palmer Twp. used a baby stroller for a two-tiered shoplifting operation, officials said. 

Virginia Santiago was caught leaving the Boscov's store at 2455 Park Ave., Palmer Township, Northampton Co., around 2:35 p.m. Friday with jewelry she did not pay for on the top part of a baby stroller, officials said.

 During a police search, more stolen items were found at the bottom of the stroller covered by a winter jacket, officials said.

 The total value of the merchandise was $251.30, police noted.

Santiago, 58, of 1242 Butler St., Easton, was arraigned on a retail theft charge and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.

 A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 27.
