A recycling plant in Northampton County that's been the subject of some controversy is out of business.

The owner of RPM Recycling, near Wind Gap, blames the slow economy for the closure, according to the Express-Times newspaper in Easton.

RPM was the site of a massive fire in 2008, and last year, it was slapped with a "cease and desist" order.

The plant had been improperly storing a flammable material known as "fluff," officials said.
