Robert Starling hits girlfriend in face with beer can, police say

EASTON, Pa. -

A man cut his girlfriend's face when he threw a beer can at her during a fight, officials said.

Robert L. Starling cut his girlfriend near her left eye after tossing the can in their apartment in the 100 block of Northampton Street in Easton at around 11:55 p.m. Thursday, officials said.

Starling admitted to police that he threw the can at the victim, officials added.

Starling, 63, was arraigned early Friday morning on charges of assault and harassment and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $25,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. July 26.
