The Sands Bethlehem has a new leader at its helm -- at least for now.
Doug Niethold was appointed Interim President of the Bethlehem casino and event center.
He's been with the Sands Bethlehem since 2007 as the Vice President of Finance. He's also worked with Sands properties in Atlantic City and Puerto Rico.
Niethold, Sands says, has more than 32 years of experience in finance, marketing, strategic planning and analysis.
The State Gaming Control Board said the Sands former chief Robert DeSalvio resigned at the end of February.
Officials at the Sands would not give a reason for his resignation and said no comment could be offered because it is a personnel matter.
Niethold and his wife Maryanne live in Easton and have two children.
