A man is in trouble for failing to register as a sex offender under Megan's Law, officials said.

Shawn Christopher Williams failed to complete his three-month registration on Aug. 23, and police tried to contact him throughout September and October, including at the tire business he falsely listed as his place of employment, officials said.

Williams is required to register as a lifetime sex offender, officials noted.

Williams, 37, of 500 Belmont St., Easton, was arraigned early Tuesday morning on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $35,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 15.
