Shoplifter learns the hard way that there's no free lunch
A woman was arrested for being part of a group of young females who left a food store without paying for food they ate and food they hid in their purses two months ago, officials said.
Tori J. Papp was among the group that included two juveniles, aged 14 and 17, who shoplifted at the Wegmans at 5000 Wegmans Drive, Hanover Township, around 4:25 p.m. Oct. 1, officials said.
Papp was identified as the driver and owner of the blue 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser the females fled in after being confronted by store security in the parking lot, officials said.
The total amount of the stolen merchandise was $31.48, officials said.
Court papers say Papp conspired with Tara and Tarissa Landis to steal the food, and that Papp previously pleaded guilty to retail theft after she was charged in September.
Court papers do not say if Tara and Tarissa Landis have been charged.
Papp, 20, of 234 James Ave., Moore Township, Northampton Co., was arraigned on charges of retail theft, conspiracy and corruption of minors, and released on her own recognizance, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9:00 a.m. Dec. 23.
