Painting of Allentown's new 15th Street Bridge will require two short detour of traffic on nearby Martin Luther King Jr. Drive this week.
The first detour will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday and is expected to end by 9 p.m. The second will begin at 4 a.m. Thursday and is expected to end by 6 a.m.
The two-hour-long detours are needed because crews will be painting the concrete surface of the 15th Street Bridge over Martin Luther King. Two coats of paint will be applied.
Eastbound traffic on Martin Luther King will be detoured north on S. 15th Street, west on South Street, north on S. 17th Street, east on Elm Street, and south on S. Franklin Street back to Martin Luther King.
Westbound traffic will be detoured north on S. Franklin Street, west on Elm Street, and south on S. 15th Street back to Martin Luther King.
