SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. -

South Whitehall Township Police are cracking down on aggressive driving in the month of August.

They will be specifically targeting the Tilghman Street corridor and the roadways that direct traffic to it.

South Whitehall Police say that Tilghman Street has a high rate of accidents caused by aggressive driving, and that PennDOT and the North Central Highway Safety Network agree.

Driving habits they are targeting include running red lights, speeding, tailgating, change lanes incorrectly, passing improperly and infringing on rights of way.

This crackdown is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education project and is funded by PennDOT's $2.5 million federal fund investment from the National Highway traffic Safety Administration.
