ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

An unidentified 35-year-old man was bleeding from a stab wound when he walked into Allentown's Little Apple Market Monday afternoon.

When the victim entered the market at 630 N. 7th St. to use the phone shortly after 2 p.m., someone noticed he was bleeding.

The city resident was uncooperative when Allentown police arrived. He initially refused to talk to them and tried to leave the scene.

Eventually he told police he had been in a fight with an unknown male who was walking with him in the 600 block of Liberty Street in the city. After being stabbed, the victim walked about a block to the market, where he called 911.

Police are investigating the stabbing, including by canvassing the neighborhood to determine exactly where it happened.

The victim was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township for treatment of a stab wound to his lower left side. He is in stable condition.
