Comedians, classic rock bands, holiday concerts, animals, Broadway--the State Theatre's new season of shows has something for everyone!

The State Theatre lifted the curtain on its 87th season lineup Wednesday, and there's quite a variety of acts offered over the coming months.

The 2013-2014 season begins Sept. 21 with comic Wanda Sykes and concludes with Peter Nero's Broadway tribute concert June 14.

Some of the concerts include the Beach Boys, Little River Band, The Glenn Miller Orchestra and several tribute bands.

'Hair," 'Pinkalicious,' and "Rock of Ages' are some of the Broadway offerings.

For Christmas, there are lots of choices--including The Jimmy Sturr Christmas Show, 'The Nutcracker,'  'A Christmas Carol,' Manheim Steamroller Christmas and  the Brian Setzer Orchestra.

Expect to laugh out loud with acts include Sykes, Lewis Black, Mark Russell and Colin Mochrie  and Brad Sherwood.

The 12th annual Freddy Awards, recognizing the best in regional high school musical theater, is scheduled for May 22.
