TREXLERTOWN, Pa. -

Upper Macungie Police investigated reports about a suspicious packet found Friday at Redner's Market on Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown.

According to information released by the police, officers responded to the scene at about 3:12p.m. and found a Romeo Y Julieta cigar box on top of a garbage can at the front entrance of the market. The box, which police secured with a zip tie, had a note attached to it that read "Do not open til' x-mas."

Police secured the scene and personnel from Upper Macungie Township Station 25 and Station 56 Fire Departments arrived and assisted. Allentown Fire Department Bomb Squad arrived to further examine the package.

As a precaution, Redner's was evacuated as officials examined the package. The market re-opened for business as soon as officials made the determination the package and scene were safe. The contents of the box appeared to be coal and will be sent for further testing.

Police are asking anyone with any information pertaining to the package to call Upper Macungie Township Police Department at 484-661-5911.
