Allentown Police have arrested an 18-year-old man accused of shooting an Emmaus man in the stomach Friday.
Jordan Michael Battle, with no curren address, was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting Friday night at Fifth and Washington streets.
The victim - 20-year-old Christopher Williams -- was initially uncooperative with police, but according to court documents, later told police he drove his mother's car to the area and Battle got into the front seat.
During his interaction with Battle, Williams told police that Battle pointed a handgun at him and demanded his money, and there was a struggle over the money, which amounted to around $400.
During the struggle, Battle fired a single shot at Williams, which hit him in the stomach, police said.
After being hit, Williams told police he couldn't recall if he dropped the $400 or if Battle took it, but police only found a $20 bill in the front floorboard of the car, along with a spent gun casing.
Williams was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Twp., where police said he underwent emergency surgery.
Battle was charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, robbery inflicting serious injury, and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon.
He is in the Lehigh County Prison on $500,000 bail.
