BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

One of ArtsQuest's biggest festivals is about to get bigger.

For the first time in its history, admission to Oktoberfest in Bethlehem will be free in 2014.

The festival, sponsored by D.G. Yuengling & Son, began in 2011 and previously had a $10 daily admission fee for ages 11 and up and $3 for ages 6-12.

"Oktoberfest has really gotten off to a great start during its first three years, with more than 20,000 people attending the event each year," said Jen Holtzman, Yuengling's marketing manager. "Providing free admission to the festival will allow the event to continue to grow, while making it even more accessible to the residents of our region and beyond."

According to ArtsQuest officials, Oktoberfest visitors will find a number of new attractions this year:

*  Free Penn State-Michigan football game viewing party on the Levitt Pavilion lawn Oct. 11

*  New craft brewers' village at PNC Plaza at SteelStacks both weekends.

*  Additional pairing experiences featuring German food and beverages

*  New Yuengling Oktoberfest 5K race on Oct. 5, which has already attracted more than 2,000 entries.

Oktoberfest will take place Oct. 3-5 and 10-12 at the SteelStacks campus at 101 Founders Way in Bethlehem.
