Thomas Patton pleads guilty in police assault
Placed on six months probation
Thomas J. Patton, who was charged with assaulting two Upper Macungie Township police officers back in January, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest Tuesday and was sentenced to six months probation.
Other charges against the 22-year-old Allentown man were dropped. They included simple assault, aggravated assault, criminal mischief and harassment.
When police responded to a Jan. 23 disturbance on Natalie Drive in the township, they encountered a combative Patton. Reinforcements had to be called in to place him into custody. Bail was set at $75,000.
