BANGOR, Pa. -

Rescuers needed three hours to rescue a hiker at a quarry in Northampton County, according to crews at the scene.

Crews say they were called out Sunday afternoon for a report of a hiker who had fallen at the quarry near CVS in Bangor.

Crews said the rescue effort took hours because officials had to walk more than a mile to get to where the hiker fell.

The injured hiker was airlifted to an area hospital, according to crews.

Crews at the scene say the man did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
