Two Slate Belt Fire Departments get state funds

Upper Mount Bethel Supervisors announce allocations

Two Slate Belt fire companies are in line to receive more than $57,000 from Upper Mount Bethel Township as part of the state’s program for the volunteer fire companies.

The funds will go to the Mount Bethel Volunteer Fire Co., $28,954.39, and North Bangor Volunteer Fire Co., $28,954.38.

The allocations were announced Monday night at the supervisor’s meeting.

The supervisors also announced a Halloween party will be held Sunday, Oct. 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Upper Mount Bethel Fire House, Route 611, Mount Bethel. Prizes will be awarded for best costume.

Trick or treating will follow from 4 to 6 p.m.
