Friday the umbrellas were out in full force. Most people were trying to escape the wet and soggy weather.

"It did put a little damper on my afternoon plans," shared Lisa Girard.

"It gets in the way of some potential fun," added Carlos Barata. "And it ruins my hair."

It also ruins planned outdoor events. A number of things in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County were canceled thanks to Mother Nature.

"We had a show at the Levitt Pavilion that was canceled due to the rain," explained ArtsQuest Spokesperson, Mark Demko.

Los Straightjackets were set to perform outside Friday night. Unfortunately the free concert will not be rescheduled. But the group will play at Musikfest.

"It's been raining since last night, the grass gets a bit wet, soggy and it's just for the safety of the patrons and the safety of the artists," said Demko.

She showers rained out qualifying sessions up at Pocono, the opening night of the World Series of Bicycling at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, and minor league baseball and football games. The kick off to World War II weekend was also nixed with the cancellation of the parade down Penn Street in Reading, Berks County.
