EASTON, Pa. -

A woman has been charged for forcing her way on to a school bus two months ago and punching her son's 10-year-old friend in the eye, officials said.

Jessica A. Brown hit the boy in his right eye with her fist after she boarded the school bus without the driver's permission around 3:25 p.m. May 16 at 14th and Ferry streets in Easton, officials said.

Court papers do not say why Brown socked the boy.

The boy, a student at Paxinosa Elementary School, knew Brown as the mother of one of his friends, officials said, adding that the victim was interviewed by police in the presence of his parents and the school's principal, Hector Bonilla.

The boy, who was checked by the school nurse, had a black and blue right eye and complained of dizziness, officials noted.

Brown, 28, of 1440 Washington St., Easton, was arraigned Tuesday night on charges of assault, unauthorized school bus entry, harassment and disorderly conduct and released on $2,500 unsecured bail, acording to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 12.
