A man is facing charges after his wife was found injured and lying on a sidewalk in front of their home, officials said.

Police arrested Jason G. Bauer after his wife, Jennifer, was found lying in front of 127 Main St., Hellertown, Northampton Co., at 11:40 p.m. Monday, officials said.

Jennifer Bauer told police her husband punched her, causing swelling around her left eye and bruises on her right arm, officials said.

Jason Bauer, 31, was arraigned early Tuesday on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $10,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 17.
