A man had to fight for his life after being stabbed in Allentown.

Saturday night around 10 p.m., a 51-year-old man was approached by two men in the 500 block of N. Madison Street, Allentown Police said.

The men may have intended to rob the 51-year-old but did not, police said.  The incident ended with the 51-year-old being stabbed in the chest.

He was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries, police said but he has since been upgraded to stable condition.
