A longtime Bethlehem city council member is being remembered by the community she served.

A memorial bench honoring former council member Magdalena Szabo was formally dedicated Thurssday along the city's Southside Greenway.

Szabo passed away in 2007 after a battle with cancer.

She served on Bethlehem's city council for about ten years.

She was also a Bethlehem school board member and co-founder of the South Bethlehem Historical Society.
