Moving history makes way for progress in Bethlehem
A group of volunteers is moving hundreds of years of history, one box at a time.
Thanks to a federal grant, the Moravian Archives will be installing movable shelving in its vault to increase capacity and to make things more organized.
In order to do that, dozens of boxes of historical documents have to be taken out. Volunteers and students from Moravian College and Lehigh University pitched in to help with the move Tuesday.
The Bethlehem facility houses one of the oldest archives in the country, dating back to 1757.
