Neighbors concerned about Chrin Landfill's recent landslide
A stretch of road in Northampton County remained closed Thursday as crews continue to investigate what caused a trash slide at a landfill.
The slide Tuesday night pushed three tiers of trash down a hill at the Chrin Landfill in Williams Township.
The trash damaged drainage pipes and exposed some methane wells along the way before landing near Industrial Drive.
69 News spoke with a nearby resident who said she's fed up with dealing with the landfill. She said she feels like Chrin is downplaying the slide.
"It's a 10 acre impact and it looks like a mini grand canyon opened up in the landfill, and I believe this has to do with the geology that's related to the landfill," said Kathy Lilley.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection said it could take months for investigators to determine what caused the slide.
