New York woman killed in I-78 crash
Victim identified as Celia Marrero, 53, of Stony Brook
A New York woman was killed in a 3-vehicle accident on Interstate 78 in Lehigh County, officials said.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes in Upper Saucon Township.
A minivan driving in the left lane merged into the center lane, hitting a Jeep, which then collided with a car in the right lane, police said.
All three vehicles flipped over, and a passenger in the Jeep died at the scene, police said. The victim was identified as Celia Marrero, 53, of Stony Brook, N.Y.
A stretch of I-78 was shut down for several hours while crews removed the wrecked vehicles and police investigated the accident.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call state police at Fogelsville.
