New music program hits all the right notes

First El Sistema concert in Allentown
A new program is music to the ears of children and organizers.
The first El Sistema concert was held Thursday night at Roosevelt Elementary School in Allentown.
El Sistema-Lehigh Valley is an after-school music tutoring and mentoring program.
Organizers said the program helps disadvantaged students and boosts self-esteem.
El Sistema was founded in Venezuela in 1975.
The program exists in 49 cities in the U.S.
