A man is facing charges for shoplifting food items twice in one day at the same store, officials said.
Michael A. Getz, 33, was arrested a few blocks away from the Friendly Food Mart, 4209 William Penn Highway, Bethlehem Twp., Northampton County, on Tuesday night, officials said.
Getz walked out of the store without paying for a $2.19 can of Chef Boyardee at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, said officials, adding that about nine hours before, he left the store without paying for a $1.79 can of Campbell's soup that was in his pants pocket.
Getz admitted to police that he took the items, officials said.
Getz, of 2705 Levi Drive, Moore Twp., Northampton Co., was arraigned on retail theft charges and committed to Northampton County Prison on $10,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 5.
