A man is facing charges for allegedly stealing more than $10,000 worth of lighting products.
John Reigner was charged Monday for the theft of thousands of dollars worth of high-end wall dimmers and light switches from the Lutron Electronics in Upper Macungie Twp., Lehigh Co., Berks-Lehigh regional police said.
Reigner, who admitted to the thefts, told police he began taking products in the summer of 2009 and sold them on eBay with a partner to fund a gambling addiction, officials said. He was fired from Lutron Electronics in late 2009.
An operations manager at Lutron said the company showed a loss of $10,205.25 that it knows of, said police, however, officials estimated the real amount could be as high as $26,000.
Reigner, 49, of 2606 Arch St. S.W., Allentown, was released on $50,000 bond following his arraignment.
