Officials: SWAT called for search of Bucks County bank robbery suspect
Police in Bucks County said they are still investigating a bank robbery that led to standoff in Lehigh County.
A SWAT team was called to a standoff just off Route 309 at Fairmount Street, near the Weis, in Cooperburg, Lehigh Co., around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
The standoff, officials said, stemmed from a robbery at the TD Bank in Quakertown, Bucks Co., around 8:45 p.m.
Initial reports gave a description of the perpetrator: a white man, approximately 6-feet tall, wearing a black skull cap, dark blue sweatshirt and dark blue pants. He displayed a long-barrel handgun during the robbery. He fled the scene in a four-door, newer model Cadillac.
Officials said the standoff ended just before midnight.
Police said the suspect is still at large.
