PPL lowering generation rates

Here's an early holiday gift from PPL to its customers: a cheaper bill!
The electric utility is lowering its generation rates for residential and business customers who don't shop around for alternative suppliers.
The new rates are effective December 1st.
The average customer will see a savings of just under four dollars a month.
PPL says falling energy prices allowed it to lower the rates.
