UPPER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. -

A North Carolina man was arrested for allegedly punching his girlfriend after a long night of drinking and arguing, officials said.

Eric K. Fairman, 21, allegedly gave Laura Firman a bloody nose during an argument in front of 146 Fourth St., Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday, officials said.

Firman said she and Fairman started arguing at a concert in Philadelphia, and that it continued after they were dropped off in Upper Nazareth by a friend, officials said.

Fairman admitted that he "had drank a lot" during the evening, officials said.

Fairman, of 210 Tiverton St., Fayetteville, was arraigned on assault, harassment, and public drunkenness charges and committed to Northampton County Prison on $5,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 12.
