NORTHAMPTON, Pa. -

A man is facing a criminal mischief charge after destroying almost $10,000 worth of his girlfriend's possessions during a rampage in her apartment, officials said.

Kyle B. Thompson was arrested after he allegedly destroyed electronic devices, furniture and clothing owned by Kaitlin Haynes at about 5:45 p.m. Monday night, officials said.

Thompson, 24, began destroying Haynes' property after she asked him to leave, officials said.

The items included two TVs, a laptop computer, a DVD player, a kitchen table, a bedroom set, two couches, and clothing, court records show.

Thompson allegedly dumped bleach on a pile of Haynes' clothing, officials said.

Thompson told police that several items he destroyed were his, but Haynes produced credit card receipts showing they were hers, officials said.

Thompson, of 320 North 13th St., Allentown, was released on $10,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 16.
