BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A man is facing charges for allegedly hitting a woman several times and biting her while he was holding their infant son.

Terrell T. Tarver was arraigned late Sunday night on assault and harassment charges, officials said.

Police found Jazmin Diaz, of 624 Bradley St., Bethlehem, with a bloody face in front of Tarver's home at 730 East 5th St. at about 9:10 p.m. Sunday, officials said.

She told them that Tarver, 34, followed her after she walked out during an argument, and pulled her hair, punched her in the face and head seven or eight times and bit her in the back of the head, officials said.

Tarver was holding his and Diaz's 8-month-old son the entire time, but the infant was not injured, officials said.

Tarver was committed to the Northampton County Prison on $15,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Aug. 29.
