A man was arrested for hitting his girlfriend during an argument over him bathing his ex, officials said.
Rickie G. Eck slapped his girlfriend and then punched her in the mouth and left eye at around 1:30 a.m. Friday in his apartment at 118A Riverview Drive, Walnutport, Northampton Co., when an argument over Eck bathing his former girlfriend turned physical, officials said.
Eck's girlfriend told police she threw a Pringles Potato Chips can at Eck and M&Ms on the floor before she was attacked, officials said.
Police said Eck admitted to striking his girlfriend, who they found standing in Eck;s driveway with a bloody mouth and a cut swollen eye.
Eck, 54, was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $5,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 10 a.m. Feb. 28.
