BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

A Bethlehem man accused of sexually assaulting a girl told police it was the 11-year-old who twice dragged him out of bed.

Joshua Colon faces sex assault charges for allegedly twice assaulting the girl inside his home in March 2015. District Judge Joseph Barner arraigned the 55-year-old Tuesday, setting bail at $35,000 with a 10 percent cash option.

Bethlehem police said the victim reported that Colon assaulted her twice over a roughly two-week period. When investigators interviewed him in August with his attorney present, Colon told police that the girl twice dragged him out of bed and that he was drunk and had been smoking marijuana each time, according to court records.

Colon allegedly told authorities several times that he couldn’t have done what the girl accused him of because he was intoxicated and couldn’t remember anything.

Police charged him with aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault of person younger than 13, endangering the welfare of a child and corruption of minors.

Colon failed to post bail and was sent to Northampton County Prison to await his preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for Sept. 27.
