NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. -

Police have identified two people who were killed in a fiery crash Wednesday night.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on Old Post Road in North Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co.

Alfred Hanna was traveling east on Old Post Road when he lost control on curves in the road and crashed into an oncoming car, which went over an embankment and burst into flames, state police said.

Hanna, 37, and the driver of the other car, Robert Davis, 46, both of Schnecksville, died at the scene.

There were no passengers in either car, police said.

Hanna died of multiple injuries, said David Krause, a deputy coroner for Lehigh County. Davis died of thermal injuries. Both deaths were ruled accidents, the coroner said.

Old Post Road was closed for several hours while crews worked to remove the wreckage.

The section of Old Post Road has proven dangerous in the past with about 12 to 20 accidents happening each year, officials said.
