ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Three men claiming to be police officers, including one dressed in uniform, tricked their way into a Allentown apartment and proceeded to rob it Wednesday night, officials say.

The three faux-cops knocked on the door of an apartment at 1727 Livingston St around 11:25 p.m., according to police.

When the men, including one wearing a police uniform with a hat, said they were with the Allentown Police Department the victim let them into the apartment. Once inside, police say, one man held the victim while the others burglarized the residence.

The robbers took an unknown amount of property and fled, officials say.

Allentown police report the robbers are described as three black men, all between 5'6" and 5'10". One was wearing the police uniform while one of the others was described as wearing a green hat with dreadlocks, and the third was wearing a red shirt and black pants.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident. No suspects have been named.
