A permanent home is being sought for a 10-week-old puppy making a remarkable recovery after being hit by a car Tuesday afternoon.

The puppy is on the road to recovery thanks to the folks at Valley Central Veterinary Referral Center in Whitehall.

The center is providing $4,000 in surgery and medical care for free after her former owner was unable to cover the expenses.

The center is now working to adopt the puppy.

"This is a dog who has a great prognosis, so hopefully we can give her a wonderful life," said Dr. Angela Gifford.

Anyone interested in adopting the puppy can contact Valley Central or the Pike County Humane Society.
