FREEMANSBURG, Pa. -

A popular hiking and biking destination in Northampton County has gotten a much-needed makeover.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in Freemansburg on Wednesday to celebrate the reconstruction of one-and-a-half miles of trail along the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.

The state funded the $300,000 project. Crews resurfaced the trail and reconstructed canal banks damaged by Hurricane Sandy and other recent storms.
