Retired Lehigh Valley steelworkers are learning about their health care options.

Cone Insurance Group is launching the first steel industry-wide "Viva Trust," which offers health care options to retired steel workers in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio.

Officials walked retirees through the enrollment process at the Palace Center in Allentown on Wednesday.

To qualify for the health coverage tax credit, retirees have to be receiving a pension check and be between 55- and 64-years-old.

Officials with Cone Insurance said the insurance plans can be very complicated, and that's where they come in.

"Being able to maneuver and understand and navigate this is very complicated, and we're here to help the retirees be able to understand that and see the value of these plans," said Amy Cone, Cone Insurance Group.

The health care plans offer low deductibles and reduced monthly premiums, officials said.
