CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -

A Lehigh County salon worker is suing her former boss, claiming he added injury to insult when he fired her two months ago.

Hilerie Deutsch, of 3659 Station Ave., Center Valley, filed a lawsuit Wednesday in Northampton County Court against David McCormack, who co- owns and manages American Hairlines at 74 West Broad St., Bethlehem.

In her suit, Deutsch says she was "involuntarily terminated" by McCormack on June 12, and as she was retrieving personal items from a drawer at her station, McCormack slammed the drawer closed on her left hand.

Deutsch claims her hand was badly bruised, and that she still suffers from numbness and tingling.

She says in her suit that she is still undergoing medical treatment for her injury, and that McCormack acted negligently and recklessly.

Deutsch is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, according to the suit.
