ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A security guard convicted of voluntary manslaughter in an Allentown shooting is making an appeal.

The lawyer for Andrew Gesslein, of Berks County, has filed an appeal of his sentence along with several other motions.

He's also asking for bail for Gesslein pending the appeal.

The Tilden Township, Berks County man was sentenced earlier this month to five to ten years in prison.

Police say he shot and killed Michael Randolph in April of last year at the North End Republican Club in Allentown.

The judge in the case has six months to make a ruling.
