The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is checking to make sure a sewage leak in Lehigh County didn't contaminate a nearby waterway.
About 1,200 gallons of sewage leaked from a home in the 3200 block of East Main Road in Upper Milford Township over the weekend, officials said.
Crews were able to cap off the leak pretty quickly, but the sewage leaked into a nearby tributary that feeds into Leibert Creek, so the DEP is testing the water to make sure it's safe, officials said.
The test results are expected in about two weeks.
