EASTON, Pa. -

More teachers in the Easton Area School District are finding out they won't have a job to return to in the fall.

The school board has voted to cut 17 middle school teachers and an assistant principal.

Those cuts follow an initial round of pink slips in May. More than 100 positions were slashed, including 49 teachers, to help close a budget gap.

The Easton teachers union said it's "distressed" by the latest layoffs.
