Teen charged with theft resigns from Alburtis council
An Alburtis, Lehigh Co., councilman, who was already on probation when he was arrested earlier this month, has submitted his letter of resignation.
Kyle Bower was charged with theft and destruction after police said he drove through a farm field in Lower Macungie Township, causing about $600 worth of damage. Police said they found beer bottles and stolen political signs inside his car.
Bower, 19, was already on probation at the time, stemming from charges of escape, false identification and stalking.
Borough officials said they received his letter of resignation Wednesday, and council members will discuss the matter at their next scheduled meeting.
